About

I began writing in November 2003.  After a lifetime of doing all I could to avoid writing, I started my first novel.  Inspired by my first exposure to National Novel Writing Month, it took me not a month, but a year to complete that first novel.  What would eventually become One Night in Bridgeport.  It took me another year to completely rewrite it.  And, then, it sat on the shelf for a few years while I wrote a whole bunch of other things.

Another novel and somewhere around 50 short stories.  A couple of years ago, I decided to try the self-publishing thing.  I don’t have the patience for trying to get an agent or a publisher.  I hear the horror stories of lost manuscripts and no responses and years of struggle.  That’s not for me.

I published Bridgeport in 2012.  I also published two collections of short stories that year.  I published Weed Therapy in 2013.

Have I blown open the publishing doors with my efforts?  Absolutely not.  But I’m in control and am learning as I go.  There is plenty more to come.

It is January 4, 2014, as I write this.  I have big plans for this year.  Let’s hope I can achieve them.

In the meantime, if you want to try one of my books out, just go to Amazon and type in my name.  The Marfa Lights and Other Stories, Shady Acres and Other Stories, One Night in Bridgeport, and Weed Therapy await you.  If I have my way, at least two if not three more efforts will join them this year.

And, always, always, let me know what you think.  Feedback is a beautiful thing.
