I’m just about done with finalizing Northville Five & Dime for publication. The cover is a bit of a challenge. I’m still working on the fonts, but am curious what people think about these two…
- The mind of a writer can be a truly terrifying thing: isolated, neurotic, caffeine-addled, crippled by procrastination and consumed by feelings of panic, self-loathing and soul-crushing inadequacy. And that’s on a good day. (Robert De Niro)

I like the top one a little better, but both are very nice.
Thank you. I think I like the top one better too. Just gotta find the right font. Sigh.
I think the top one is more subtle which gives it a more vintage feel… And agree the font needs something 🙂
I posted three more possibilities over on Twitter. Of the two here, I agree with you. I like the more subtle, vintage look better. Others have commented on the other cover that it pops more.
Yes, it does pop but because of the title…. I’m thinking (I dare not assume) that there might be some historical references?
I’ll have to go snooping on Twitter 😉
I like the top one better
Thank you!
Both are nice – given the ‘story’ the art/banner hints at, I prefer the top version, as well –
I need to keep working on this.
Yup but reminding u simply because i recently re-learned….try not to get lost in the forest by focusing on trees. May apply may not. Just saying…,🙂
In just tuning in, you probably are finished but I think the first one looks more vintagie which I think may be what you are going for but the other one is nice too. Kind of pops and is a little more crisp.
Wow, the cover! Can’t wait to read it!
I’ve decided to reconsider the approach to this cover. But if you want to read something I wrote … The Irrepairable Past is a novella that I published a couple of months ago. Available on Amazon everywhere! 😉 Northville is coming.
I like the top one better !!
Such a wonderful project that’s kept you busy. Don’t stress. Enjoy the ride.
